Dr. Bruce A. Costa

Dr. Costa is a Professor of Finance at the University of Montana, Missoula, and has taught courses in corporate finance and personal finance at both the graduate and undergraduate level for the past 14 years. He also served as Past Chair of the University of Montana Department of Accounting and Finance. His research work focuses on the risk-adjusted returns of actively managed portfolios and has published numerous times on the subject.

Dr. Costa served 13 years on active duty with the U.S. Navy as a helicopter pilot, test pilot and assistant navigator aboard the USS Saratoga (CV-60) and is a Gulf War veteran. Bruce is from Chelmsford, Massachusetts, and is marries with several children and grandchildren. Bruce enjoys time with his wife and traveling around the state and the world.

Community Involvement: Served on Strikers Soccer Board, 2006-2010; Board Member and Treasurer. Accomplished landscape fine art photographer.

Education: B.S. in Industrial Engineering/Operations, magna cum laude with honors, from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Massachusetts (1979); Ph.D. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and a support in Econometrics from Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida (2000).
